In economics, BRIC or BRICs, is an acronym that refers to the fast-growing developing economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China. Brazil is known as the “World’s Raw Material Base,” with Russia known as the “World’s Gas Station,” India known as the “World’s Office,” and China known as the “Factory of the World.” The term was first proposed by Jim O’Neill, chief economist of Goldman Sachs.
