In 1995's Before Sunrise, a young American named Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and a French student named Celine (Julie Delpy) meet on a train in Europe. They take a side trip to Vienna that lasts just one night but make a romantic connection. The story comes to a bittersweet end when they part at the train station the next morning. In this sequel, it's nine years later and Jesse is on the French leg of a book tour for his novel when he meets Celine again.

還記得《愛在黎明破曉時》（Before Sunrise）嗎？95年的維也納車站，一對年輕男女邂逅、瞭解、相戀、分離，雖然只發生在一天之內，卻比長相廝守的愛情故事更刻骨銘心。究竟那年冬天他們有沒有赴約？現在你可以不用再憑空想像，因為九年後，故事在巴黎有了延續…。獨立名導李察林克雷特Richard Linklater多年後聚集原班人馬再拍續集，當然不是應觀眾要求來給個Happy Ending。維持著首集對話連篇、場景陽春、演技即興的「自然」特色，這部續集在商業性上沒特別「長進」，不過從目前全美影評與觀眾反應看來，《Before Sunset》不僅對白更加犀利雋永，導演對兩人感情的安排也益發耐人尋味，綜藝報Variety讚許：『這部電影會感動所有曾錯過摯愛的觀眾』，權威影評人Roger Ebert更給予本片更勝首集的難得肯定。本片劇情接續由伊森霍克與茱莉蝶兒主演的浪漫小品《愛在黎明破曉時》，描述男女主角在邂逅多年後於巴黎街頭不期而遇，各自對生活有所承諾的兩人，不能再像當年那樣無拘無束地追求感覺，但舊情火苗仍在彼此對話中悄悄復燃…。
